Various booster station and watermain improvements projects are needed throughout the water system to meet future demands and increase system reliability.

Impacts to Customers
Residents may experience some localized construction traffic near the project sites. Construction of all water main improvements will occur entirely within road rights-of-way and limited interruption of water service is anticipated.

GCSED will provide 48-hour advance notice for any planned service interruption and will work to minimize the length of water shutdowns required to install new water mains. Water service may be disrupted for 4-6 hours or longer if unforeseen issues arise.
The water pressure should be about the same after the work is complete.
Occasionally, work can dislodge sediment in the distribution system that causes discoloration or reduced pressure. Although the water is safe to drink, please avoid drinking if it is discolored. We recommend that you run cold water through your kitchen or bathtub faucet until it is clear (this may take up to 10 to 15 minutes). If this does not resolve the issue, call GCSED at 937-562-7450 for further assistance.
Typical work hours will be 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Friday. Weekend work is not anticipated, but impacted residences and businesses will be notified if special conditions require weekend work. During emergency events, work will continue until the emergency is resolved. Typically, construction work completed during a normal eight-hour shift will be backfilled (covered) and ready for traffic by the end of the shift. Open trenches will be covered by large metal plates secured in place with an asphalt mixture.
Unless there is a no parking sign posted, you may park your vehicle on the street as you would under normal legal circumstances.
A curb stop will be installed with the project. If a resident wishes to tap into the mainline, the resident will need a meter pit and water line installed at the residence and pay a tap in fee. Please contact our project management team for more information at 937-562-7461.
