Greene County’s $46 million investment in water softening has successfully reduced water hardness from 27 to 8 grains per gallon, providing residents with improved water quality. The upgrade at the regional water treatment plant is expected to enhance the taste, smell, and overall usability of water while supporting economic growth and development, write WDTN 2 News.
“With the high quality of water that we’re going to be distributing and the amounts of water that that we can produce, that’s economic growth and that’s what’s going to support and help build this region,” said Greene County Sanitary Engineering Department Director, Mark Chandler.
