Greene County’s wellfield project continues to make progress, reports the Dayton Daily News. Currently being developed on 57 acres of property located on Hilltop Road, the county project will result in a total source capacity of 4.3 million gallons of water a day, or around 21,600 customers, says Mark Chandler, Engineering Director at Greene County Sanitary Engineering.
Improving the county’s water systems is expected to save the county approximately $500,000 annually by allowing the county to serve customers on its own system, rather than purchasing water from nearby counties.
