Softer water arrives in Greene County

Starting in September 2024, many residents in Beavercreek, Centerville, Kettering, Cedarville, and neighboring townships will have softer water flowing into their homes. Updates to Greene County Sanitary Engineering (GCSE)’s Northwest Regional Water Treatment Plant have included the installation of reverse-osmosis filtration, which removes contaminants like calcium, magnesium, bacteria and PFAS from water.

“One of the reasons we chose this methodology was it helps to protect us from those things that we don’t know that we’re going to have to look for and take care of in the future,” says Mark Chandler, director of GCSE. These upgrades will also increase appliance efficiency and longevity, and could even improve the taste of your morning coffee.
