Commissioners for Greene County awarded design-build contracts to Shook Construction and engineering firm AECOM for the water treatment plant expansion and water softening project, the Dayton Daily News reports. The project will encompasses full-scale upgrades to existing infrastructure, the construction of a new membrane building at the water treatment plant, and the implementation of water softening technology to the process that will target the same hardness as Dayton and Montgomery County, according to Jason Tincu, the director of the Greene County Sanitary Engineering Department.
