GCSED owns and operates seven separate public water systems (PWs). The County has planned to connect two PWs — Clyo and Dayton — into the newly upgraded Northwest Regional Water System, with the goal of gaining operating efficiencies, maintaining customer rates, improving planning and risk management, and increasing opportunities for economic development, among other benefits.
Benefits
Connects areas (within Greene County) currently served by Montgomery County and the City of Dayton to the GCSED water system
Reduces system operating costs
Eliminates gaps in the water distribution network to increase system reliability
Impacts to customers
Some residents may experience discolored water. Flush the water lines each time they turn on one of their water fixtures. Let the water run for a few minutes or until the water runs clear. They may need to flush your water prior to use for up to three days.
Avoid washing laundry if they have discolored water, as it may cause staining. If staining occurs, do not dry. Rewash after clearing lines.
